POSITION DESCRIPTION AND APPLICANT CRITERIA

D.O.P.E. Publishing is looking for a Transcriptionist to support authors and aspiring authors with getting their dreams on paper. It's a freelance position, so you can take on as much or as little work as you can effectively commit to completing. Audio transcription needs for authors primarily consist of preparing transcripts of interview audio for the Creative Writing Department to utilize in ghostwriting and co-writing projects.

A D.O.P.E. Publishing Transcriptionist will need to be able to exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality involving personal and sensitive information. Ideal candidates will be experienced transcribers with a dedication to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.

THE ESSENTIALS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 1+ years of experience transcribing conversational audio content or similar audio content.

• Strong attention to detail and efficient in managing time and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to build relationships, collaborate with others, and communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

• Proven record of transcription projects.

• Strong command of English, spelling, grammar rules, and punctuation usage.

• Experienced in both Microsoft Word and Google docs.

• Proficient and resourceful in using the Internet to research and confirm unfamiliar terms and words.
